When that happens, close the order ( [T] by default). A quarry is a place where it is easy to park. Usually there is a lot of space and you do not have to go back. Trying to figure out parking a trailer myself, I also found it much easier just to stay in the trailer and use my mirrors. Sometimes I'll stop and glance at an outside cam to check blindspots or distance (depth perception isn't so great on a monitor) but when I'm actually steering the trailer in motion, the closer to real life I can make it, the easier it is.
